About NLR India Foundation:
NLR India Foundation (NLRIF) is a non-profit, non-religious, non-governmental organization registered as public charitable trust as per the Indian Trust Act in 1999. NLR India Foundation is certified for Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) in 2004 and received tax exemption under section 80G of IT Act, 1961. In addition, NLR India Foundation is a member of International Federation of Anti-Leprosy Associations (ILEP). NLRIF aspires for a country free of suffering caused by leprosy through inclusive development programs encompassing prevention and cure for leprosy affected persons and disability inclusive development and disability care for the resultant disabilities. NLRIF works in seven states, namely, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and West Bengal in 129 districts towards one aim – Zero Leprosy Suffering. NLRIF works closely with 150 leprosy colonies in these states.

Reporting to: Manager, Business Development

Fundraising Officer will work in close coordination with Manager, Business Development for business development (BD)/ resource mobilization (RM) through institutions and individuals to support various programmes of NLR India Foundation.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Contact and engage with prospective Corporate donors for CSR grants, and HNI individuals, connect with decision-makers in donor organizations, and pitch NLRIF programs to be funded.
• Use existing contacts and build a pipeline of Corporate CSR donors and HNI individual donors willing to support NLRIF’s programmes.
• Build and coordinate new partnerships leading to concrete fundraising results.
• Raise funds for the various projects as per the mutually agreed fundraising targets with NLRIF senior management for the short term and medium term.
• Assist Manager, Business development in developing business cases for future funding together with other colleagues.
• Assist Manager, Business development in setting up and coordinate project teams and consortia during the proposal development stage.
• Assist Manager, Business development in developing high quality project proposals for foundations, governments, multilaterals and other organizations, together with technical, programmatic and financial team members and where applicable other consortium partners.
• Support Manager, Business development in Developing/ updating strategy for BD/RM within the scope of NLRIF work priorities.
• Support Manager, Business development in Developing detailed annual plan for BD/RM.
• Engage other NLRIF staff in resource mobilization activities.
• Work in close coordination with the NLRIF communication team particularly for strengthening the brand value of NLRIF; engaging NLRIF Brand Ambassador and Champions.
• Coordinate with Manager, Business development for interaction with NLR International Office and other NLR Alliance partners.
• Define and practice more innovative methods of on and offline fundraising.
• Ensure excellent donor stewardship for online and offline individual giving.
• Support project leaders in their donor stewardship activities.
• Coordinate with the finance team in accounting of the donations and issues of timely receipts and tax exemption certificates.
• Manage third party agencies for RM for individual donors.
• Identify and recognize RM champions working for NLRIF BD/RM.

Qualification, experience & skills:
Education: Post-graduate degree in Social Work, Business Administration or Marketing, and allied disciplines.

Experience & Skills:

• Prior experience of fundraising for the not-for-profit sector from the domestic donors, targeting Small & Medium Industries CSR programs; Large Corporations across various programs, and HNI Individual donors.
• Self-driven and target oriented with a proven track record of setting realistic targets and achieving fundraising milestones.
• Ability to network and build relationship with key decision makers at donor organisations.
• Ability to customise proposals to align organisation objectives with the donor priorities and areas of focus.
• Experience of working with start-up/ small organisation environments.
• Languages – English, Hindi.

Type of Appointment
Contractual appointment with fixed term of one year. Renewal thereafter on basis of performance and requirements of NLRIF.

Remuneration:
Remuneration would be competitive and as per the Not-for-profit sector standard for a role with similar complexity and would also be based on the candidates experience domain expertise. On travel days, s/he will be entitled for reimbursement of hotel accommodation plus per diem as per the entitlement.
